Halloween 2003 Chronology
Friday Oct 31 -
Went out at about 2.45pm with Laura to get costume for Halloween. There were so many people at State Street shopping for Halloween! Went to Pipefitters first and decided that the costume is too costly. Then, we went to Ragstock. The line was awfully long that we were thinking of just stealing the stuffs we wanna buy but of course, we backed out..hehe. Later that nite, we went to Princeton Ave apartment for a party. It was quite cool. Laura and I managed to carved a pumpkin and it turned out to be pretty nice considering that was our first time. Ling and Yen came down from Northwestern, so later around 10pm we brought them down to State Street for the FAMOUS Halloween parade. People dressed up in so many different creative costumes but the attention grabber is undoubtedly those 3 frat guys who wore leapord thongs! Hahaha, we even took pictures with them! The crowd was less crowdy because the official parade is on Saturday, where people practically from all over US come to join the craziness. Well, according to poll, Halloween on State Street is after all in the top ten list of places one has to be before he dies. Last year, there was a stampede and I nearly felt! After the parade, we went back to Princeton for scary movie marathon. We watched Inner Senses, Leslie Cheung last movie before he comitted suicide. It was pretty scary alrite. Yet, we only stayed for a movie coz we were so tired and sleepy!

Saturday, November 1-
Went to Maharaja with the Chinese guys and my housemates for lunch. We were supposed to go for an All-American breakfast but every place was too packed. Why in the world the Americans got up very early?! But it was worth the trip as the food was REALLY good. At 7pm, everyone started to dress up for the awaited Halloween parade. I don't know what I am but I considered myself a witch. I wore a black cape and a mask. Before the parade was another party at Lionel's place, and we the Oak Tree clan reached there around 9pm. Not so many people arrived yet, so it was a bit quiet in the beginning. About 45 minutes after that, things started to get rowdy. Lionel put up the music and everyone started dancing. I guess the best part was when Baby Boy song was played coz I really like that song. The guys even asked me to dance on the table..hahaha. And so we danced all nite. Wilson dressed up as a lady, so there was loot of hoots here and there :p. Around 10.30pm, everyone was tired but pretty hyped up to go out for the parade. However, bad bad news. Michael was really drunk, he took 3 shots of beer. He kept on falling on the floor and was mumbling craps. Things got worse when he puked on the sofa. So, the guys had to cool him down and carried him to the bedroom. Nick was also half-drunk. He puked a little and just lie on the floor but his condition was not as bad as Michael. Michael was really trashed tonite. At first, I thought it was funny coz I never really see people got drunk in front of my eyes, but towards the end, I felt a bit wary. I, after all, has been out all day. And I also felt a bit guilty since it is the fasting month rite now, so I should not really be getting involved with all these. In the end, I decided to not join the parade. I quietly got up, went out and walked all the way home. ALONE. It was pretty scary considering the fact that there will be many drunken people, but I just don't give a damn at that moment coz I was very exhausted. So now here I am writing this journal, feeling more relaxed as everything around me is so quiet. And oh ya, tomorrow will be the day I have to start fasting, therefore no more parties for a month!
