Happy New Year
This is how I celebrate the coming of 2004. Madison State Capitol has decided not to give a firework display this year. So, there is pretty much nothing to do unless I am 21 and I can hit the bar and join the drinking party, which I don't do. Therefore, I just hang out at my friend's apartment and do useless activities. Boring, boring, boring. I got quite sleepy and went home alone at around 12.30am. While I was walking down Union South, crossing my finger and hoping that there are no drunks or muggers around, a guy approached me. I was scared to death (you can never know what happens when you're walking alone past midnight) and was even more horrified when I saw his face was bleeding and it looked like there were tiny pieces of broken glass on his jaw. He must have realized my terror when he was asking me, "Hey, do you know..." and suddenly stopped talking. Then, he said "You know what, that's ok. Sorry." I was speechless that I mumbled something like "That's okay" and quickly walked straight ahead and looked back once to check he wasn't following me. Geez....what an odd experience for a new year in Madison. Now that I am safely at home, I just hope that the guy was fine and was able to get some help from others. I just don't want anyone to bleed and suddenly passed out in the middle of a road.
