| I personally think Captain Jack Sparrow a.k.a Johnny Depp should have won the Oscar for Best Leading Actor. I admit, at first I was quite surprised that he was nominated but his performance in the movie is undeniably good. Of course, the other nominees gave superb performance in their movies. But for once, just imagine...Take out Sean Penn from Mystic River and replace him with another good actor and I'm pretty sure the movie will still be a good movie. The same goes for Bill Murray in Lost In Translation. I can name thousand other actors that can play his role equally well. The same case for Ben Kingsley. But can another actor replace the weird, funny Captain Jack Sparrow? Gimme at least two names that can bring Captain Jack to Oscar. I don't think so. I bet no one will be able to bring the character as well as Johnny Depp. Imagine Sean Penn, Ben Kingsley or Bill Murray as Captain Jack. Hmmm....better not. |
