Ulek Mayang. What's so sacred about this song? All I know is that long time ago the song is sang to praise spirit of the sea. 7 princesses will then appear to help cure the sick. I have heard of so many haunted stories regarding to this song. It is said that you cannot mention odd number of princesses or else, strange things will happen. But how does it relate to real life? Why is the song 'berhantu'? How is it wrong to mention odd number of princesses? Who causes this fatal or illness?
I am always skeptical about things like this. I only believe in God and by all sense, I cannot imagine how Ulek Mayang, merely a song once used to praise the sea spirit now can actually make people sick and see ghost. |
