I feel so sick right now I want to puke. For the past 2 days, I have been watching gore, disturbing and whacked up movies I swear I am going to lost it if I see another sickening murder scene. Starting with:
(1) Better Luck Tomorrow - honestly, this isn't so bad. A story of a group of Asian American high school kids in California who are overachievers and are working hard on SAT to go into good colleges. An incident cause them to doing crimes to eliminate the pressure of "being perfect". One crime lead to another bigger crime and until they ended up killing someone by beating the guy's face with baseball bat.
(2) Suicide Club - a mysterious, disturbing Japanese movie that left you hanging in the end. An investigation starts when 54 high school students jumped off in front of a moving train. Sooner, a series of suicides occur, turning the case into a twisted theme: murder or suicide? No one can figure out what really happens until the movie ends.
(3) Irreversible - a French movie about a lady who was raped in a tunnel and how the boyfriend and a friend tried to get a revenge. Uniquely, the movie is done backwards, starting from the final scene and rewinding to earlier scenes bit by bit, hence the title. Every little scene is done in detail especially the way the boyfriend is murdered (beating his face with an extiguisher until his face is unrecognizable). This is where I lost my edge and wish I hadn't see it in the first place. |
