It is hard for me to hang on a tearjerker movie especially if it is not developed well enough or if the pace is too boring and slow. To begin with, I am not a fan of tearjerker movies. But A Moment to Remember simply wins it all. It is the most beautiful and saddest love story I have ever watched. The movie itself is an irony whereas it is impossible to believe that this kind of love story can happen to someone, but at the same time it IS likely possible to occur to somebody in this world. As how it usually is with a sad love story, A Moment to Remember is a story about a man who has to cope with his wife's terminal illness. The movie starts off with how they fell in love, get married and their life from there after. Now, why do I say this movie wins it all? Because this is not an ordinary terminal ilness kind of love story where somebody dies in the end because of cancer or leukimia.
This movie runs out of the norm by presenting a lady diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Nobody dies in the end. But what will make your tears flow is the fact of the wife forgotten memories. And what could be sadder than seeing an alive person whom you get married to not remembering who you are? Calling you by another man's name? Two person who are in love with each other but one not being able to recognize the other one. Amazingly, the movie is told at a very well pace and there is never a boring moment. I watched this movie a month back, cried and when I was rewatching the first half last night my tears welled up again knowing what would come up next eventhough the scene I was watching was nothing near sad. A Moment to Remember is that kind of movie. Click here for more info.

On the other hand, Densha Otoko is downright funny and entertaining. Alleged to be a true love story which was later adapted into a manga, anime, TV series and into this movie, Densha Otoko is about an otaku who met and fell in love with a beautiful woman when he "saved" her from a drunken man in a train. Being an otaku he is whom never ever thinks about dating another human being, he seeks help from his Internet friends. How does this fairytale ends? You've gotta watch it so you can also enjoy the laugh that I had. For further review, click here. And don't worry girls who can't stand a not-so-pleasant-looking hero, the guy only looks that geeky for the first 15mins or so.
