Excerpt from monkeypeaches.com:
He was a writer, He thought he wrote about the future but it really was the past. In his novel, a mysterious train left for 2046 every once in a while. Everyone who went there had the same intention ... to recapture their lost memories. It was said that in 2046, nothing ever changed. Nobody knew for sure if it was true, because nobody who went there had ever come back - except for one. He was there. He chose to leave. He wanted to change.

I have watched many Wong Kar Wai classics: Days of Being Wild, Farewell My Concubine, In The Mood For Love, Happy Together. But 2046 is one of the most bearable. In fact, in a way I kinda like it a little. His movies, unlike many Hong Kong movies, require a challengingly intelligent mind, a strenuos effort to understand, and most importantly, the strength to stay intact through the whole movie. I remember watching In The Mood For Love and feeling very wasted and confused in the end. It may have won a few Cannes awards and received better reviews than 2046, but I am not that strong of mind to contemplate the classic development and less conversation-more voiceover of the movie. Also, 2046 contains the art of storytelling - performance and retelling - that emphasize its whole storyline. But as always, you gotta watch Wong Kar Wai piece of work more than once to fully understand the whole picture.

My favorite scene: Tony Leung writing his '2046' & '2047' stories
Most expensive scene: Kimura Takuya's affair with Faye Wong. His 60's dressing & hairstyle - slick, lotsa gel, 'belah tengah', T-shirt button up to top. Owh man, this Japanese heartthrob memang transfrom completely, I am awed with the makeup artist.

I am posting double entry today. This is the second one. A rather interesting topic I guess. I include partial of the article below.

"Why is the world in love with Japanese street fashion?"
Why is the world in love with Japanese street fashion? Looking through the multitude of Japanese street wear fashion magazines such as ViVi, NONNO, CanCan, Elle, Ray, JJ, I finally realized why Japanese fashion has made a mark in the fashion world: Japanese fashion is full of DETAILS. From the top of their head, to the tip of their toes, it seems like they have spent careful thought in selecting every single piece of their clothing. It's not how each piece of clothing looks. It is about how each piece of clothing complement each other. It is about a look that tells people: 'Hey, I spent about 3 hours today getting ready, and I look good'. That's why "Japanese fashion" in the eyes of most Japanese fashion lovers is not a particular style, but a total look of completeness... Click Japanese Streetwear to read further.

Somehow, I couldn't agree more with the author. That is how amazed I am with the Japanese fashion when I visit the country 3 months ago.

What a productive weekend I have. NOT! Friday evening started with the watching of The Eye II with 3 other friends. Sad to say the movie is not as good as the first one so it fails to scare the hell out of me. The evening continued with dinner at Taj Indian Restaurant. Spent full hours there until the shop is about to close while eating, gossiping and talking shits like what Malaysians usually do at mapley.

Had this 'makan-makan' thing for Raya on Saturday afternoon but I was there for only a while because my stomach felt funny. Must be the briyani from Friday night. Tried to read my African novel but it bored me to death I stopped reading after a few pages. Later after midnight, had three rounds of pool at the apartment's basement. Or should I say three rounds of learning how to play pool? Seriously I sucked at it. But I guess I did pretty okay that night for a serious first timer. Siap panjat meja lagi..hahaha!

Sunday was like the most boring day of all. No homeworks due, no exam until finals and too lazy to study in advanced, so I just sat in front of the TV watching videos or strumming my guitar. Went to sleep at 10.30pm. Heh...what a weekend.

Let's talk about love since Thanksgiving and Christmas(season of love) is coming around. I don't usually do this. At least not here, or publicly. But I am going to do it today anyway.

I have been in love once. Fallen in love twice. Take note that I never joke about matter like this. I may like many people in my life, but only love that many. Now it seems to be happening again. With someone who is definitely out of reach. Friends laugh at me when I told them this. It angers me a little. I know it sounds naive and stupid, but I am not a high school kid anymore and who are you to limit the boundary of whom can someone love? Take these for example. Does being a poor means you must only fall in love with a poor? Does being a commoner means you cannot fall in love with some handsome prince from a far, farway land or with the guitarist of a punk rock band? Does being a 13 year old kiddo means you cannot fall in love because you are still young?

Seriously, I say those who say yes to the questions above is somehwat retarded. As a matter of fact, every human being is the same having the naturality to love whoever he/she wants be it with Mary the next door girl or that cute OC actor Adam Brody.

So DO NOT laugh at me when I say I like him. I am only a human after all. Perhaps it is a little too much in reality but love is still love. Peace to y'all and have a phantastic weekend! Auf wiedersehen.

I went to watch an ice hockey game yesterday night. UW-Madison vs University of North Dakota. I must say, it is a wonderful experience for a first timer like me.

Ice hockey is the ONLY game that reveals a man's machoness. Firstly, there's the jersey attire that somehow makes the player looks intimidating. Then, the skills one has to have - pushing the puck towards the goal post, ice skating, controlling the puck, speed, controlling balance, ramming into an opponent's to steal the puck, defensing. It is an exciting game, far more exciting than football, I believe.

Why I say it is a wonderful first game experience for me?
(1) The fact that I have the chance to watch an ice hockey game
(2) The opponent team is a tough fight. Frankly speaking, they are faster that UW team players. Number 24 laju giler! But thank God we have a great goalie to prevent the puck from getting in.
(3) The crowd, though not as great as football crowd, is enthusiastic enough to raise the game spirit.
(4) There was a fight between the players during the end of the second period. Seriously, this fight adds the excitement of the game. Indeed, I am expecting a fight! :p. Seeing the green team being pushed and punched, isn't that something? The crowd, as usual, adds the heat when they keep calling the green team "Asshole". Ahakz, I think it was a bit too much but it was still fun anyway.
(5) The sudden rush of relief when the buzz went off and we were announced winner!

Ahh, sugoi! I wanna watch another game!
