It is hard for me to hang on a tearjerker movie especially if it is not developed well enough or if the pace is too boring and slow. To begin with, I am not a fan of tearjerker movies. But A Moment to Remember simply wins it all. It is the most beautiful and saddest love story I have ever watched. The movie itself is an irony whereas it is impossible to believe that this kind of love story can happen to someone, but at the same time it IS likely possible to occur to somebody in this world. As how it usually is with a sad love story, A Moment to Remember is a story about a man who has to cope with his wife's terminal illness. The movie starts off with how they fell in love, get married and their life from there after. Now, why do I say this movie wins it all? Because this is not an ordinary terminal ilness kind of love story where somebody dies in the end because of cancer or leukimia.
This movie runs out of the norm by presenting a lady diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Nobody dies in the end. But what will make your tears flow is the fact of the wife forgotten memories. And what could be sadder than seeing an alive person whom you get married to not remembering who you are? Calling you by another man's name? Two person who are in love with each other but one not being able to recognize the other one. Amazingly, the movie is told at a very well pace and there is never a boring moment. I watched this movie a month back, cried and when I was rewatching the first half last night my tears welled up again knowing what would come up next eventhough the scene I was watching was nothing near sad. A Moment to Remember is that kind of movie. Click here for more info.

On the other hand, Densha Otoko is downright funny and entertaining. Alleged to be a true love story which was later adapted into a manga, anime, TV series and into this movie, Densha Otoko is about an otaku who met and fell in love with a beautiful woman when he "saved" her from a drunken man in a train. Being an otaku he is whom never ever thinks about dating another human being, he seeks help from his Internet friends. How does this fairytale ends? You've gotta watch it so you can also enjoy the laugh that I had. For further review, click here. And don't worry girls who can't stand a not-so-pleasant-looking hero, the guy only looks that geeky for the first 15mins or so.

I have to write a short essay on Valentine's for my Japanese class. Having no experience celebrating Valentine, what should I write about? Even if I have celebrated it a long long time ago, I couldn't even remember a single thing about it since I have completely erased the memory of that past of mine. Should I write "Barentaindei ni kare ga hoshii desu."? Then what? Bunyi macam desperate only adela.

Happy Chinese New Year to all my friends! I want some mandarin oranges! Send one box to me please, mama. Today, I don't know why but I am missing all my close friends very much. Maybe it's the rain. Cloudy rainy day always make you feel extra lonely sometimes, isn't it? I wish we could all go hang out at Starbucks or Cofee Bean and spend the night out chatting and laughing until it gets really late. Nothing is better at this moment than some girl-bonding with my girl friends.

Aa aa aaah...I need a job right now! Why? It is so hard to get a job when you are a senior. I still have no answer from Biotron and all the other employers haven't replied to my application yet. What if I can't get any of the jobs? The waiting itself is driving me crazy. With debts up on my sleeve, I won't be able to go anywhere during Spring break if I am not able to earn extra money. Aaa aaa aaahh...

Winter is warmer this year in the US. Looks like Tokyo is stealing all our snow.. whatsup with the snowstorm until some flights from Narita were cancelled...hahaha. One answer. GLOBAL WARMING. Think about it. Don't you think this global warming phenomenon is one scary shit? Weather all around the world is changing like crazy. Just look at all the disasters that have happened. Tsunamis, hurricane Katrina, hurricane some-other-pretty-girl-name, floods in Malaysia and snow at all the wrong places and time to name a few. Who knows what else might happen in the years to come? I was reading a novel Are You Afraid of the Dark? by Sidney Sheldon in where he wrote about a prominent think thank company who designed a secret machine that can control the weather(I won't bother describing the science to you) and how the president use this power as a way to blackmail other countries. Pay a sum of money if you want the hurricane to stop, that kind of thing. What surprised me is the actual fact that the disasters mentioned in the novel actually happened in real life. And since many years ago weather research & experiments have been conducted by various agencies/organizations(I won't mention the names) to modify climate & weather which some have resulted in weather catastrophes in many areas including Wisconsin!

I quote from Sheldon, "Everybody talks about the weather, but no one does anything about it". So, what's your hand on global warming?

Kyaaaa!!!! The OC's back! Well, actually it was back last week but I wasn't aware the fresh episodes would be up so soon. I miss Seth and Summer so much that I was practically elated when I saw Summer and heard Seth's voice on the screen. Caitlin, Marissa's sister is back so hopefully the 2nd installment of this season sizzles up compared to the 1st installment. Desperate Housewives is back too and I couldn't be happier. The show just keep getting better and better.

I have just devised the best plan(at least I think it is) to allow me to stay and work in Madison for the summer. I registered to graduate in summer but will still commence in May. Therefore, I am dropping one of my I/A class this semester and I am going to take the 3rd semester Japanase summer class. It's gonna be intensive and one hella month; 4 hours of class straight Monday to Friday but I want to learn the language as much as possible while I still can. Ganbarimasu.

So, my favorite word of the month: SUMMER~~~

Classes started yesterday. It wasn't bad except that I have to wake up real early this semester as opposed to previous semesters where all my classes started around 11am. But what really scares me is that out of the 4 classes I'm taking, three of them(Japanese, Geog. Stats & Operations Info Mgmt) have no curve grading system and follow the grading basis of most language classes, which means a high A and B. Matilar like this... getting a 85-89 will still be a B! Think I'm that smart ke? Getting a 75% is even a half-bloody battle for me. Sheesh...

I've watched Bi/Rain new video Sad Tango. Why he sang it in Japanese I don't know but I don't prefer it that much compared to his older songs. Nice dance moves nevertheless. He's really the Dance King heh? He is SO BIG in the entertainment industry now that he even will have the chance for a debut concert at New York Madison Square Theatre this February. Impressive, ain't it? I also love Only Human by K at the moment especially when he is singing it while playing the piano. So full of emotion. It is a great soundtrack coming from One Litre of Tears, which is also a great show by the way. Whee... I am so loving the entertainment industry that I want to enter this field as my career. A PR, manager or project executive maybe? You never know.

I want to move to Australia, can I? I don't like living here.

If I die, will you cry for me?
If you loved me once, will you love me forever?
If I loved you once, will I love you forever?
If I forget, why do you remember?
If you forget, why do I remember?
If you promise, why don't you keep it?
If your memories are lost, will your soul lost too?

Am I lucky, or am I not?
Am I your Kleenex, or am I not?
Am I your crown, or am I not?
Or am I just a memory?
If I die, will you cry for me?
If your memories are lost, will your soul lost too?

Is there love? Is it for eternity? If it is, I do not believe in it.
Love is just an excuse to find comfort when you feel alone.
Because by time you will forget. The way you used to love.
And there is no saddest thing in this world than a forgotten memory.
Again I ask.
If your memories are lost, will your soul lost too?

4 days late but never mind. Happy New Year! Can't believe it is already 2006. And I've been maintaining this blog since end of 2003. Phew..time sure flies fast. It just seemed like yesterday that I stepped my foot on Dane County Airport but now I have only a few months left before I leave this place for good. I hate that idea. Not that I love living in Madison or I hate my own country but I am so adjusted to living comfortably on my own at a foreign place that the thought of going back home permanently is such a dread.

So what's your 2006 new year resolution? Thinking about it, I've been pretty good in keeping my resolutions most of the time(angkat bakul..hehe). Last year, it was restraining myself from going clubbing and I am proud that I succeed in doing that. There has been invitations and temptations but somehow Lady Luck is always on my side because whenever I decided to finally go, something else came up. And I'm planning not go to clubs anymore for the rest of my life. Now, now.. for this year, what will it be? I only have one thing in my mind right now. That is to improve my Japanese. I am going into second semester this year. I won't have chance to go for third semester onwards since I am graduating but I'll try my best to learn it somewhere else. I'll read more mastering Japanese books, listen to more Japanese songs and watch more Japanese movies and dramas. That's how I learn my English, and that is also how I am gonna learn my Japanese. I'll also try to learn to eat and love more Japanese food. This year, I am going to give it all in. Hopefully Lady Luck is with me again.
