I don on cendol, and they've all been saying how good cendol Malacca is. I thought that some of the mamak cendol that you can get on the street of KL or Selangor and the one that I had by the beach in Penang were good enough. Still I wasn't satisfied so I fussed with my family that no matter what, we must go to Malacca last weekend. And so we did. With the promise that I would treat them to a seafood dinner at Umbai, which was really no big deal because I've been promising to treat them to a meal since I got my first paycheck.

Entering the street of Jonker Walk, my most favorite place in Malacca, gave me the feeling as if I have stepped into the past of Malacca. Antiques and unique weird things are everywhere, plus stalls that sell food such as radish cakes, fruit candy, exquisite Chinese desserts and large pot of dim sums. I had fun browsing at the stuffs that they sell there and bought myself a Chinese fan. The shop where I plan to have my cendol, has a huge crowd lining up to either by the cendol or the noodles at the stall next door, or both. We had to wait until my parents were about to give up. When we finally got the seat, we ordered Baba cendols and a Sagu cendol. The lady at the stall was really fast, we only had to wait for two minutes to get 5 bowls of cendol.

And my friends were right! Malacca cendol, a totally unique taste that you can't get anywhere else but in Malacca. It's all about the sugar. Straight from the vendor, original and thick gula Melaka, with just the right amount of coconut milk and other ingrediets, blends beautifully together to make one comes back for more. I know I will.

So if you go to Malacca, don't forget to stop at The Museum Cafe!
